Before You Begin
Check that your organization is eligible for the Nonprofit Grant.
EligibilityTo Be Eligible for Google Ad Grant
Your nonprofit must:
- Hold registered charitable status in your country (501(c)(3) in the USA
- Not be a government entity, healthcare organization, or school
- Have a live, noncommercial website that provides valuable content and a positive user experience
- Comply with Google’s nondiscrimination and donation receipt rules
1. You Apply
Basically, you go to Google and sign up, fill in your organization’s information and confirm you hold valid charity status.

- Go to the Google for Nonprofits page and click https://www.google.com/grants/get-started/
- Sign in with your organization’s Google (corporate) email address.
- Complete the form with your nonprofit’s registration number, physical address, mission statement, and contact information.
- Verification is completed by Google’s partner (such as Percent or Goodstack); approval typically takes 2–14 business days.
2. Activate Your Grant
Once Google confirms your eligibility, you’ll be able to sign in to Google for Nonprofits and activate your grant.

- After approval, log in to your Google for Nonprofits account.
- Click on ‘Products’ and select ‘Get Started’ under Google Ad Grants.
- Fill out the eligibility assessment and activation form, providing details about your organization and objectives.
- Confirm your submission and activate the grant.
3. Create Your Ad Campaigns
You can now set up your text ad campaigns and modify them as needed.
Be sure to comply with Google’s Program Requirements in order to keep the grant.

To maintain your Google Ad Grant, you must:
- Maintain at least a 5% click-through rate (CTR) monthly
- Use conversion tracking and achieve at least one meaningful conversion per month
- Use proper ad structure (minimum two ad groups per campaign, two active ads per group)
- Restrict ads to your service region using geo-targeting
- Utilize at least two sitelink ad extensions
- Only promote your own domain; avoid generic or single-word keywords unless pre-approved
- Your ads must not promote financial products or have landing pages full of external links.
